A case of massive pancreatic ascites due to stones impacted in the head of the pancreas is described. The problems in differential diagnosis are outlined. Treatment consisting of transduodenal removal of the stones, sphincterotomy and gastrojejunostomy was followed by complete disappearance of symptoms and freedom from farther episodes of pancreatitis.
