摘要
At about 460°C indigo (1) isomerizes to dibenzonaphthyridindione (2) in the gas phase remarkably smoothly with ring enlargement to incorporate the central CC double bond. The transition state was calculated (PM3) and is characterized by the rupture of the bonds between the carbonyl groups and the central CC unit. (Figure Presented.)
