EVALUATION OF CATHODE MATERIALS FOR THE ELECTROCHEMICAL MEMBRANE H2S SEPARATOR

摘要
An electrochemical membrane cell which selectively removes H2S from hot gas streams appears close to commercial application. In the present study alternative cathode materials are tested for performance and stability in gases with and without H2S. Several candidates show strongly preferential kinetics for H2S reduction over the gas-phase reactants present in much higher concentrations. Cobalt sulfide is the best of the metal-based materials and, of the ceramic oxides, lanthanum strontium chromium oxide is also promising.
