ABSORPTION OF NO IN AQUEOUS-SOLUTIONS OF FE(II) EDTA - DETERMINATION OF THE EQUILIBRIUM-CONSTANT

摘要
In order to develop a regenerative denoxing process based on the absorption of NO in aqueous solutions of Fe(II)EDTA, investigations were carried out concerning the equilibrium thermodynamics of this reaction. The present study is based on 35 experiments which cover a temperature range from 4 to 90-degrees-C. All experimental data fit well to the equilibrium constant equation: K(p) = 9.58 x 10(-9) exp(7792 x 1/T) which gives for the reaction enthalpy: DELTAH-degrees = -64.8 kJ mol-1. The earlier literature data are extremely scattered and generally yield higher K(p) values than the present study.
