IR-SPECTRA OF [1802]TROPOLONE AND COPPER(2)-[1802]TROPOLONATE

The 18O frequency shifts in the i.r.-spectra of [18O2]tropolone and bis-[18O2]tropolonato copper(II) are discussed. The shifts in the spectrum of tropolone in the 1700-1200 cm-1 region do not agree with calculated values on the basis of the linear harmonic oscillator model for CO and CO stretching frequencies. In the spectrum of the complex only one CO stretching frequency is observed in solution at 1357 cm-1, and the CuO4-stretching bands are found in the region 700-400 cm-1. © 1968.
