IN PLANE ORIENTATION OF POLYIMIDE LANGMUIR-BLODGETT-FILMS

摘要
Monomolecular films of polyamic acid amine salts (4), precursor polymers of polyimides, are oriented parallel to the direction of the pressing bar at the air-water interface. Although LB films of 4 showed molecular orientation to the dipping direction in an ordinary trough, the different orientation was observed by using the moving wall type trough. L and LB films of 4 possessing a terphenyl unit showed higher orientation compared with the case of a monophenyl unit.
