COULOMB STRIPPING IN REACTION 89Y(D,P)90Y AT 4-MEV BOMBARDING ENERGY

The 89Y(d, p)90Y reaction leading to the states of 90Y up to an excitation of 3.142 MeV was studied with bombarding energy below the Coulomb barrier. Excitation curves were measured over the deuteron energy range 3.2-4.2 MeV with solid-state detectors. Angular distributions were obtained at 4 MeV deuteron energy with a broad-range magnetic spectrograph and were compared with the DWBA and the Coulomb stripping theory. Spectroscopic factors were deduced. The validity of the Coulomb stripping theory is discussed for the proton groups leading to the observed higher excited levels. The angular distributions for the states of Ex ≧ 2.479 MeV are well reproduced by the Coulomb stripping analysis. The 0.780 MeV (2+) level was observed with an intensity of 1.5% of that for the ground state doublet. © 1969.
