SPIRAL WAVES IN THE HOMOGENEOUS AND INHOMOGENEOUS BELOUSOV-ZHABOTINSKY REACTION

摘要
The model of the ferroin-catalyzed Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction is modified for the temperature range 10-30-degrees-C, which is more appropriate for experiments. In the concentration range explored, a vortex rotates around a stationary circular core. However, in an inhomogeneous medium, it drifts along the boundary of the inhomogeneity. The computations fit experiments well for all measured spiral wave parameters.
