DIRECT REACTION MIXTURE ANALYSIS BY PROBE INSERTION CHEMICAL IONIZATION MASS-SPECTROMETRY

摘要
Quantitative analysis of chemical reaction products was obtained by direct probe insertion of the mixture residue into a chemical ionization source. Quantitation was achieved by comparing the total protonated molecular ion current generated from reaction products and a reference compound during exhaustive evaporations. Standard curves were generated for each product using synthetic material. No intercomponent interactions were detected during mixture analyses, but similar compounds were found to have different ionization efficiencies. The simultaneous quantification of seven nonvolatile products of the aqueous reaction of the anticancer agent 1,3-bis(2-chloroethyl)-1-nitrosourea was used as an example of this analytical method. © 1979, American Chemical Society.
