LiTi2(PO4)3 (LTP) with a three-dimensional network structure and Ti(HPO4)2.2H2O (TP) with a two-dimensional layered structure are typical phosphate crystals with different properties. Integrated microporous glass-ceramics with skeletons of LTP and TP crystals have been fabricated utilizing a novel finding that LTP is transformed into TP in acid solutions at temperatures > 50-degrees-C. These integrated porous glass-ceramics are prepared from glasses in the pseudo-binary LiTi2(PO4)3-Ca3(PO4)2 System by controlled crystallization and subsequent acid treatment. Bulk samples with continuous pores of approximately 30 and approximately 50 nm diameters were obtained without serious cracking, or deformation. The synthesis route and procedures are reported with their microstructure and possible modifications.
