ULTRASONIC AMPLIFICATION IN TELLURIUM ALONG Z-AXIS WITH LONGITUDINAL AND TRANSVERSE ELECTRIC DRIFT FIELDS

摘要
Ultrasonic attenuation and amplification are investigated in z-cut bars of tellurium where the phase velocity of shear waves deviates strongly from the group velocity. We have observed that the acoustoelectric effect is parallel to the phase velocity. The amplification is due to the component of the drift velocity parallel to k. © 1969.
