摘要
A new experimental technique—using Knudsen cell-mass spectrometry—is described for direct, convenient determination of infinite-dilution activity coefficients of the solute in a liquid mixture at high temperatures. Two unique features of the technique are (1) calibration of the mass spectrometer is not necessary and (2) composition measurements are not required. The utility of this experimental technique is demonstrated by determining the infinite-dilution activity coefficient for magnesium in tin at 875 °C. © 1979, American Chemical Society.
