摘要
Silica gels doped with copper have been examined, after different heat treatments, by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). A strong decrease of the CU2+ EPR signal was observed for samples heated for 2 h at 650 degrees C. After the same heat treatment, relatively intense sidebands due to the spinning at the magic angle appeared 19 on each side of the (29)SiNMR central line. These indicate a large broadening of the NMR lines, which confirm the recently observed ferromagnetism originating from CU2+ ions.
