摘要
Clustered and single crystal types of diamond were grown from molten nickel under high temperatures and pressure. 111 surfaces of the former are undulated, whereas those of the latter are smooth. The former contains many twin components and is highly strained, showing fine texture of optical anisotropy, whereas the latter has a simple pattern of birefringence consisting of growth sectors and growth banding. The former contains less nitrogen and nickel than the latter. The former had a tendency to grow at lower temperature than the latter and it is expected that the liquid structure changing as a function oF the growth temperature influences the morphological change. © 1990, Elsevier Science Publishers B.V..
