摘要
The effect of some experimentally variable factors on the accumulation/formation of the phytoalexins medicarpin and sativan by excised lucerne leaflets following inoculation with Verticillium albo-atrum was examined. The production of both compounds was maximal at 25 °C in response to 107 spores ml-1 in the infection drops and following incubation for 36 h. Incubating the leaflets under continuous light markedly reduced the level of both compounds. Both medicarpin and sativan were produced by the leaflets in response to heavy metals. © 1979.
