SYNTHESIS OF ACTIVE FORMS OF VITAMIN-D .1. RECENT ADVANCES

During the past several years since their discoveries, great progress has been made in chemistry, biology and clinical applications of vitamin D metabolites. Synthesis of these metabolites made it possible to confirm the assigned structures including stereochemical details and supply large quantities for biological tests and clinical applications. On the other hand, the general problem of structure-activity relationships in the vitamin D series has been approached by the synthesis of various structural analogs.
