摘要
A mechanism leading to asymmetry between the numbers of levo and dextro enantiomers in solution is suggested. Within this approach chiral symmetry breaking is induced by the short-range intermolecular interactions which can promote the conversion of enantiomers to alike configuration. This effect may result in a kind of "phase transition" of the system to the state in which the presence of enantiomers of only one type, either levo or dextro, is energetically advantageous. This kind of cooperativity in solution can be induced by an appropriate external perturbation.
