The present state of research on the Reversed-Field Pinch (RFP) was reviewed at a workshop held at Padua, Italy from 4-12 September 1978. This workshop was organized by the Centro di Studio sui Gas Ionizzati of the National Research Council (CNR) and the University of Padua, EURATOM-CNR Association. There were some 45 participants from Europe, USA, Japan and Australia. Experimental and theoretical work and future perspectives were reviewed in eight sessions. © 1979 IOP Publishing Ltd.
