摘要
Reaction of B5H9 with HMn(CO)5 (or H2 and Mn2(CO)10) at elevated temperatures produces 2, 2, 2-(CO)3-2-MnB5H10, in which the (CO)3Mn moiety is bound by two M-H-B bridge hydrogen bonds to the basal borons of a pentagonal-pyramidal cluster and by another bond to the apical boron. Spectroscopic studies indicate the molecule has Cs symmetry. Reaction of this with Br2 produces the apically substituted derivative l-Br-2, 2, 2-(CO)3-2-MnB5H9, while the anion 2, 2, 2-(CO)3-2-MnB5H9- is prepared by removal of a bridging hydrogen, as H+, from a position on the mirror plane between basal boron atoms. © 1979, American Chemical Society.
