摘要
Silica membranes were formed by floating a solution of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS)-water-ethanol on sym-tetrabromoethane. The solution reacted with atmospheric moisture and gelled to a flexible sheet. One-tenth millimeter sheets were lifted from the sym-tetrabromoethane and dried in air. Ethanol escaping during hydrolysis produced bubbles which intersected the gel surface and left hemispherical pores in a close-packed arrangement.
