C-13 NMR RELAXATION STUDY ON MOLECULAR-MOTION OF N-ALKANE CHAINS IN THE ROTATOR PHASE

摘要
The C-13 spin-lattice relaxation times (T1s) of n-C32H66 were measured in the crystalline state, rotator phase and melting state, in order to clarify the molecular motion of the rotator phase. From these results it was found that in the rotator phase every methylene carbon has almost the same value of T1. This indicates that all-trans zigzag chains in the rotator phase rotate rapidly about their long axes.
