摘要
The most recent results from the investigation of the atomic dynamics of amorphous and icosahedral alloys using neutron inelastic scattering techniques are briefly presented. Short wavelength collective excitations, low energy modes, and structural relaxation in metallic glasses are covered. The dynamics of the disorder-dominated metastable rapidly quenched icosahedral alloys is contrasted with the first very detailed results obtained most recently for the phonon density of states and the dispersion of acoustic phonons in stable slowly cooled icosahedral alloys.
