OBSERVATION OF A GLASS-TRANSITION DUE TO FREEZING-IN OF POSITIONAL DISORDER OF MOBILE SILVER IONS IN THE GLASSY STATE OF AGI-AGPO3 SYSTEM

摘要
Heat capacities of (AgI)(x)(AgPO3)(1-x) (x = 0, 0.500 and 0.600) glasses were measured in the range of 13-300 K with an adiabatic calorimeter. P-glass transitions were discovered for the first time among amorphous superionic conductors in the x = 0.500 and 0.600 glasses at 85 +/- 1 and 76 +/- 1 K, respectively. It is concluded that the superionic conduction mechanism is connected with the presence of positional disorder of Ag+ ions as in the superionic alpha-AgI crystal.
