STRUCTURE OF COBALT(II) ACETATE AND COBALT(III) ACETATE IN ACETIC-ACID SOLUTION

摘要
Optical and ion migration experiments were carried out with acetic acid solutions of CoII and CoII acetate. The results indicate a mononuclear structure with six ligands. The largest amount of these complexes is uncharged. It is proposed that in anhydrous acetic acid CoII acetate can be represented as Co” (OAc″)2 (HOAc)4 and Co″1 acetate as Co1” (OAc″)3 (HOAc)3. Addition of water, (ring substituted) benzaldehyde, benzoic acid, or phenol results in exchange reactions with acetic acid ligands. © 1979, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
