摘要
CO hydrogenation over sodium-promoted nickel and cobalt catalysts was studied to better understand the specific effects of the alkali modifier. The main catalytic effects were assigned to the weakening of the hydrogenating ability of the metals, resulting from their transformation into bulk carbide phases. The easy CO dissociation resulting from a direct interaction with the alkali ions is proposed to explain the metal phase transformation.
