STATIC STRUCTURE OF STRONGLY INTERACTING COLLOIDAL PARTICLES

摘要
We show that in order to use or even to test the accuracy of rescaled mean spherical approximation (RMSA) model of the structure of colloidal dispersions, one must take into account the penetrating background (PB) inherent in the use of the mean spherical model applied to the one-component macrofluid model (OCM) of colloidal dispersions. This can be done analytically and no major modifications of computer programs nor of analyses of experimental data need be made. All that is needed is a reinterpretation of the parameters obtained from such studies. Furthermore, for typical systems of strongly in colloidal particles we show by comparison with machine-generated values that the RMSA with PB gives extremely accurate results.
