STRUCTURES AND PROPERTIES OF NEW MOLECULAR CONDUCTORS BASED ON PD(DMISE)(2) (DMISE=SELENOXO-1,3-D-DITHIOLE-4,5-DITHIOLATE)

摘要
Four new anion radical salts D[Pd(dmise)(2)](2) (D=(CH3)(4)N, (CH3)(4)P, (CH3)(4)As (CH3)(4)Sb) have been prepared. All of them are isostructural with the superconducting all-sulfur analog beta-(CH3)(4)N[Pd(dmit)(2)](2). In the unit cell, strongly dimerized Pd(dmise)(2) molecules stack to form 1-dimensional columns along the a+b and a-b directions. Electrical resistivity of each salt shows very small temperature dependence down to ca. 150 K (rho(R.T.)=ca. 10(-2) Omega cm), below which a rapid increase in the resistivity is observed. In the (CH3)(4)P salt, an application of pressure leads to an appearance of a metallic region. A superconducting transition, however, is not observed up to 12.0 kbar. The electronic structure of these salts is examined by means of a tight-binding band calculation.
