摘要
The details of the shear mode of ductile fracture in sheet tensile specimens of a pearlitic 0.9% steel have been investigated using the techniques of optical, scanning electron and transmission electron microscopy. During necking of the specimens many small voids were found to form at pearlite colonies within the neck. These voids occured at a number of positions with respect to the pearlite colonies. With further elongation the deformation became concentrated into zones of shear in which the pearlite-initiated voids grew in a shear manner and finally coalesced. These shear zones consisted of material with an elongated cell structure. The fracture surfaces consisted mainly of shallow elongated dimples. The mechanism of this type of fracture in the pearlitic steel was compared with that of the same steel in the spheroidized condition which has been studied previously. © 1979.
