A model of associated mixtures proposed recently (A. J. Treszczanowicz and G. C. Benson, 1985) is used to predict the excess volumes and excess partial molar volumes for binary mixtures of ethanol, 1-propanol, 1-hexanol, or 1-decanol with some branched hydrocarbons. The association parameters adopted are the same as those used previously for mixtures with n-alkanes. The model successfully describes the decrease of excess volume when an n-alkane is replaced by a branched isomer.
