A GENERAL FRAMEWORK FOR CREATING EXPERT SYSTEMS FOR CONTROL-SYSTEM DESIGN

摘要
A general method of creating expert systems for configuring the controls of chemical processing units is discussed. Idiomatic control analysis and synthesis is used to understand the control design problem. The goal tree success tree (GTST) model is used to represent idiomatic control synthesis and the GTST is converted to a knowledge base for the expert system. The procedure is demonstrated through the use of examples taken from development of the expert system DICODE (DIstillation COntrol Design Expert). The programming methodology leads to a knowledge base in which frames are used to represent the concepts involved in the problem solution, and demons are required to implement the design method. The requirements of the shell used for expert system implementation are discussed. © 1990.
