摘要
An attempt has been made to develop Cr-Mn-Cu white cast irons for applications requiring corrosive and erosive wear resistance properties. Alloys with different compositions and heat treatments were subjected to wear tests under corrosive wear conditions. The relative wear index of each alloy after specific heat treatments was evaluated with respect to standard nickel-hard type IV cast iron. The corresponding test results indicate that the addition of 3% copper to Cr-Mn cast irons in the ausaged condition markedly reduces (about 35%) the corrosive wear loss in saline slurry media. The as-cast austenitic alloy with copper exhibits a better corrosive wear resistance performance (about 43% to 47%) than those of the hardened and tempered or ausaged alloys, and is comparable to that of nickel-hard type IV irons.
