摘要
Data which are collected from an experiment by digital computer usually have some noise associated with them. The data can be smoothed after they are collected, using numerical techniques of which the so-called 3-point smoothing algorithm is one of the simplest. This simple algorithm is ineffective in smoothing a noise signal that extends over several data points but can be extended to provide far more efficient smoothing in a very simple way. The effect of the new smoothing algorithm is displayed both as regards the improvement in signal-to-noise ratio and the effect on fine structure contained in the data. © 1979.
