GIANT MAGNETIC KERR ROTATION FOR PT SUBSTITUTED MNSB COMPOUND FILMS WITH NIAS TYPE-STRUCTURE

摘要
Magnetic and magneto-optical properties were investigated for Mn-Sb-Pt films with the concentration range of 38 at% < Mn < 59 at%, 29 at% < Sb < 56 at%, 0 at% < Pt < 26 at% fabricated by RF sputtering. Mn-Sb-Pt films with the concentration of 50 at%Mn, 44 at% Sb and 6 at% Pt annealed at 300-degrees-C show giant Kerr rotation angle of more than 1.0-degrees at short wavelength of lambda = 500 nm. From the results of structural analysis and of theta(k) spectrum, it was found that the giant theta(k) observed in present experiment arises from the NiAs type MnSb compound including Pt atom.
