摘要
Toluene/Triton X-100 liquid scintillant has been further investigated in its counting characteristics for tritiated water. An improved simple method of sample preparation is described. The Channels Ratio method of determining counting efficiency has been examined in detail for this system and can be satisfactorily applied over a fairly wide range of aqueous sample content. Triton X-100/P.P.O/P.O.P.O.P. containing no toluene has been found to act as a liquid scintillant. A hypothesis is advanced to explain the mechanism of action of Triton X-100 in counting systems. © 1969.
