摘要
An analytical procedure by means of the finite strip method has been presented on the elastic and inelastic buckling strengths of members composed of longitudinally and transversely stiffened plate elements on edge compressions. Using this method, the effect of transverse stiffeners on the elastic and inelastic buckling strengths of plane plates stiffened by transverse stiffener(s) or longitudinal and transverse stiffeners is discussed. The numerical examples show that the improvement of buckling strength in the elastic and inelastic ranges can be expected using appropriate rigidity and arrangement of longitudinal and transverse stiffeners. © 1979, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
