DETERMINATION OF THE THERMODYNAMIC PHASES OF HE-4 ADSORBED ON H-2 PLATED GRAPHITE

Thermodynamic measurements have been used to investigate the surface phases of monolayer He-4 adsorbed on graphite plated with 1.45, 2.15, and 3.15 layers of H-2. In each case the He-4 preferentially adsorbed on the lower completed layer. In this paper we report the measurements of He-4 on the 1.45 layer H-2 graphite plating. For this plating the He-4 goes into a condensed phase below 0.87 K. The high temperature-low, density film entropy has been. calculated.
