FLUORESCENCE QUANTUM YIELD OF CRESYL VIOLET IN METHANOL AND WATER AS A FUNCTION OF CONCENTRATION

摘要
Photothermal spectroscopies and fluorimetry have been used to determine absolute and relative fluorescence quantum yields for cresyl violet perchlorate in methanolic and aqueous solutions as a function of concentration. The concentration dependence of the fluorescence quantum yield is found to be significant and cannot be ignored as in past studies. The values of the fluorescence quantum yield are found to be affected by inner filter effects. In aqueous solution, the fluorescence quantum yield is also affected by quenching attributable to water structure and dye dimerization.
