KINETIC-STUDY OF THE REACTIONS OF CYCLOHEPTATRIENE AND TETRAMETHYLETHYLENE WITH ATOMIC OXYGEN IN THE GROUND-STATE O(P-3) IN THE GAS-PHASE

摘要
Rate data for the gas phase reaction of cycloheptatriene and tetramethylethylene with atomic oxygen O(3P) have been obtained using a discharge flow system with mass spectrometric detection. All measurements were performed in an excess of O-atoms at total pressures between 2 and 5 mbar. In the temperature range of 293 K < T < 873 K the following Arrhenius parameters were obtained: k(cycloheptatriene) (T) = (9.6 +/- 1.9) . 10(12) . exp (+(298 +/- 30)/T) cm3 mol-1 s-1 k(Tetramethylethylene) (T) = (9.6 +/- 1.0) . 10(12) . exp (+(317 +/- 32)/T) cm3 mol-1 s-1. The kinetic data for the reaction of tetramethylethylene + O(P3) are compared with data of other publications [1, 2]. The data for the reaction of cycloheptatriene - O(3P) are the first published to our knowledge.
