摘要
Abstract—The study suggests that photosensitized reactions might constitute a trigger of the photo‐damage occurring in the visual cells. Retinal is used as a sensitizer candidate: it is shown that its illumination leads to singlet oxygen production which in turn generates membrane damage in model systems.
