TRANSMISSION OF 24 GHZ RADIATION THROUGH CO-P FROM 4-DEGREES-K TO 414-DEGREES-K

The technique of ferromagnetic antiresonance microwave transmission 1 at 24 GHz was used to study the magnetic properties of the amorphous ferromagnet, Co-P (∼25 at.%P), from 4 to 414 °K. The resulting data were used to obtain the saturation magnetization, g-factor, and the Landau-Lifshitz damping parameter, λ. The magnetization was found to obey the Bloch T3/2 - Law over the interval 4-79 °K. The g-factor and λ were found to be slightly temperature dependent. This temperature dependence is shown to indicate the presence of uniaxial anisotropy. The possible origin of this anisotropy is discussed.
