SPONTANEOUS BREAKING OF FLAVOR SYMMETRY AND PARITY IN LATTICE QCD WITH WILSON FERMIONS

摘要
By adding a symmetry-breaking source term of the form Hi-psiBAR-gamma-5-tau-3-psi the Wilson fermion action for two degenerate flavors of quarks, we provide evidence for the existence of a phase at large values of the hopping parameter K in which both parity and flavor symmetries are spontaneously broken and which is separate from the "high-temperature" phase. This is done by means of numerical simulations of lattice QCD employing the hybrid Monte Carlo algorithm.
