摘要
The climatic characteristics of the Isles of Scilly are briefly described and general consideration given to the possible modes of origin of their marine fauna. The range of ecological conditions on the shores is indicated by description of different levels of exposure from extreme shelter, with deposition of huge areas of relatively stable sand, to bare rock headlands facing the full rigour of the Atlantic weather. A brief note is added of underwater conditions in a few localities off St. Mary's surveyed by divers of the University of London Sub-Aqua Club. © 1969 Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.
