SINGLE-CRYSTAL STRUCTURE REFINEMENT OF A NONSUPERCONDUCTING COMPOUND CONTAINING OXIDIZED CUO2 SHEETS - ND1.7BI0.1SR0.9CA0.3CU2O6

Single crystals of the title compound were prepared, and the structure was determined from X-ray diffraction data on one of these crystals. The space group is tetragonal I4/mmm with a=3.833(1) A ̊, c=19.539(1) A ̊ and Z=2. The structure is essentially that which was originally proposed for La2SrCu2O6. Consistent with other studies, we observe no superconductivity despite the fact that the CuO2 sheets appear to be appropriately oxidized. © 1990.
