ELECTRON TRAPPING IN GLASSY ALCOHOLS - PULSE-RADIOLYSIS STUDY OF IRRADIATION TEMPERATURE

摘要
The end-of-pulse absorption spectrum of the trapped electron in pulse-irradiated 1-propanol glass shows a marked dependence on irradiation temperature. At 6 K there is no maximum below 2050 nm (the detection limit); at higher temperatures up to 76 K a peak exists at 1600-1700 nm; and at 95 K and 115 K a second peak is present at 800 nm. Isothermal spectral changes observed after the pulse are too small and too slow to account for these effects of temperature, and it is concluded that electron trapping is governed by the irradiation temperature. © 1979.
