FREE AMINO ACIDS IN ICHTHYOTIC SCALES AND IN CALLUS

The compositions of free amino acids of the cornified products, here investigated, were different from the one of normal horny layer. All hyperkeratotic materials showed generally increased amounts of lysine, leucine and isoleucine in relation to the other amino acids. In callus, citrulline was found markedly reduced, but ornithine and aspartic acid were increased. Only in sex-linked ichthyosis, serine was diminished significantly, with which this variety is to differentiate from the other ones. © 1969 Springer-Verlag.
