摘要：

Results of a study with 29 normal aging volunteers and 29 dementia patients (ages in both groups, 55-85 yrs) indicate that E. W. Russell's (see record 1976-08657-001) Revised Wechsler Memory Scale discriminated between the 2 groups on all variables. Both groups experienced greater loss in figural than in semantic memory. Results suggest that memory loss in normal aging and dementia is a selective rather than a general disability.
