摘要
There have been many attempts to relate some aspect of surface electromyographic (EMG) activity with low back pain. Such a relationship might lead to simple, inexpensive, noninvasive screening for low back pain. Until recently, there was little conclusive evidence in the literature regarding a positive relationship of any surface EMG parameter with low back pain.9 In the last few years, a number of studies have demonstrated the reliability and repeatability of changes of surface EMG in persons with low back pain.1, 4 A few tests have been described that show some sensitivity and specificity of the surface EMG for low back pain. Most of these involve some measurement of a parameter that has been known for years, the flexion-relaxation phenomenon (FRP). © 1993, J.B. Lippincott Company.
