CIRCULAR DICHROISM OF SOME COMPLEXES OF TYPE CO(EN)2AA2+ CONTAINING OPTICALLY ACTIVE ALPHA-AMINO ACIDS

摘要
The circular dichroism (CD) and electronic absorption spectra are reported for some cobalt(III) complexes of optically active α-amino acids of the general formula Co(en)2aa2+ (where aa is an amino acid anion). The amino acids studied were (S)-serine, (2S,3R)-threonine, (S)-proline, and (S)-methionine. The (+)d isomers of the Co(en)2aa2+-ions were assigned the A configuration, corresponding to that of the (+)D Co(en)33+ ion. The effect of conformation of coordinated chelates on the CD curve in the first ligand field band region is discussed. © 1969, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
