摘要
A systematic approach is presented for the application of realistic models to porous gas-diffusion electrodes used as cathodes in the phosphoric acid fuel cell. This modeling approach determines model parameters that describe a specific electrode structure through an optimization procedure which utilizes data from carefully planned experimental studies. The final optimized model can be used to interpret the major performance limitations of the particular electrode. Additionally, the optimized model can also be used in a simulation mode for a predictive analysis of electrode performance under a variety of conditions. This combination of a detailed modeling effort and carefully implemented experiments can provide beneficial feedback to the electrode development process. © 1990.
