The standard molar enthalpies of formation ΔfHmo of several ternary oxides of quadrivalent lanthanide or actinide with alkaline earths have been determined at 298.15 K and po = 101.325 kPa. The results for ΔfHmo/(kJ·mol-1) are as follows: BaCeO3, -(1686.5 ± 3.9); SrCeO3, -(1685.6±3.8); BaTbO3, -(1609.0±2.7); SrTbO3, -(1612.9±2.1); BaAmO3, -(1544.6±3.4); and SrAmO3, -(1539.0±4.1). The stabilities of these complex oxides with respect to their parent binary oxides are discussed. © 1990.
